In the U.K. it is estimated women are buying approximately half their weight (62lbs) of clothing each year and Lucy Siegle estimates they have £30 billion worth of unworn clothes lingering in their closets. New Zealand may be similar, as we are now spending more on apparel and footwear that we did a decade ago and prices have gone down so we are just buying more.
